FAQ

Questions people ask before booking

Plain answers — no trade jargon. Still stuck? Contact us or call 07943 065 433.

What is an EICR?

An electrical safety certificate for your property. It checks wiring and your fuse box are safe. Landlords in England need one at least every 5 years before or during a tenancy.

How much does an EICR cost?

It depends on property size and type — a one-bed flat is not the same as a large house. We quote after you tell us your postcode. No fixed prices on this site.

Are you qualified and insured?

We are NICEIC Approved — work is checked to UK safety standards. Dial-A-Sparky Limited is registered at Companies House (10424535).

Do you help landlords and estate agents?

Yes — a big part of our work is EICRs, urgent fixes before move-in, and certificates agents need to complete a let or sale.

What is PAT testing?

Checks that plug-in appliances (kettles, tools, office equipment) are safe. Useful for landlords, offices and shops — you get a written record.

Do I need an EPC?

If you are selling or renting a property, you usually need an Energy Performance Certificate. We can arrange one — see our EPC page.

My fuse box keeps tripping — can you help?

Yes. That is fault finding — we track down the cause and fix it, or upgrade your fuse box if it is outdated. See fault finding.

Can you install a home EV charger?

Yes, if you have off-street parking and your supply can support it. It is one of many services we offer — not our only focus.

Where do you work?

We are London-based and cover London plus wider UK jobs by arrangement. Share your postcode and we will confirm.
